Sciauro Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil undoubtedly has valuable organoleptic characteristics. It has a straw-yellow color with green reflections, of varying intensity. On the nose, it reveals a strong fruity scent with notes of herbs and clean notes of fresh tomatoes, which are revealed in the flavor as well. On the palate, the oil is harmonious with an intense flavor, but is always pleasant and balanced; it also has harmonious bitter and spicy sensations and a high polyphenol content. It’s perfect drizzled on grain soups and game roasts, and adds more character to fresh tomato sauce-based first courses.
Area
Since time immemorial, the grapevine has been an important resource for the people of Valle del Belice, in Sicily. The first human settlement in this area was Selinunte, an ancient Greek colony of Magna Graecia founded by the people of Megara in the seventh century B.C. The people of Selinunte planted olive groves in the valleys and fertile lands along the Belice and Modione rivers.
