The olive oil shows an intense, clear golden-yellow color. To the nose it expresses complex and fine notes of freshly cut grass, artichokes and unripe tomatoes. At the taste it’s fairly bitter and spicy with herbaceous hints of artichokes and legumes. Overall sweetness, spiciness, bitterness and freshness are in perfect equilibrium.
It’s excellent on legumes, fish, bruschetta, grilled vegetables, vegetable and legume soup, and fresh cheeses.
The Company La Selvotta is located in the Vasto area in Abruzzo, near the Adriatic Sea. Here for three generations the owner, Sputore family, has produced excellent extra virgin, single varietal and DOP olive oils. The precious oil is produced from healthy olives, which are harvested by hands at just the right time and mechanically pressed within 12 hours. The processing takes place at the company’s oil mill with millstones and cold extraction. The special treatment of the production stages, from the production of olives to their grinding, is personally run by the company’s owners, guaranteeing an excellent, medium fruity olive oil with hints of herbs, a delicate taste and low acidity. The quest for quality has always been a priority for the company and is demonstrated by its numerous national awards and presence in the best industry guides.
