Johnny Cake
Ingredients
2 1/2 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 cups butter
milk for forming the dough
Preparation
Sift the flour, baking powder, salt and pepper together. Add the butter in small pieces and enough milk to form a smooth, firm dough. Roll out the dough into 2 disks about a 1/4 inch thick. Overlap to form square ravioli. Make sure to close the corners perfectly and fry in very hot oil until golden.
